These are the full terms of the Vagabond Haven referral programme. The short summary in the sign-up form is there for convenience. Where the two differ, this document is the one that applies. It is written in plain language on purpose: if anything here is unclear, ask us before you join.
These terms are an agreement between Vagabond Haven AB, a company registered in Sweden, and you, either as a private person or as the business you name when you join. We call you the referral partner.
Joining does not make you an employee, an agent or a representative of Vagabond Haven, and it does not give you authority to enter into anything on our behalf.
You join by completing the sign-up form and confirming that you accept these terms. There is nothing to sign and no fee. We record which version of these terms you accepted and when.
We may decline an application or end a partnership at any time, for example where a partner competes with us directly or where we believe the programme is being misused. Section 9 covers what happens to referrals already registered if that occurs.
Once you have joined we give you a personal link and a QR code that points to the same place, plus access to a page where you can see the referrals you have made and the status of each one.
The link is yours to use as often as you like, with no limit on how many people register through it. You may place it anywhere your own audience already finds you, for example your website, your newsletter, your email signature or your premises.
You may not send it as unsolicited marketing to people who have not asked to hear from you, and you may not use it in paid advertising that features the Vagabond Haven name or brand without our written agreement. Both damage our ability to reach customers, and in several countries the first is also unlawful.
A referral is registered when a person submits their own contact details through your link and confirms that we may contact them. We record your name and the date and time against that person.
You can see every referral you have made, and its status, on your own page. If you think something has been attributed wrongly, tell us and we will look at the record together.
Your fee is 2% of the net sale price of the house, meaning the price we invoice the customer for the house itself, excluding VAT, transport, groundworks and any services carried out by other companies.
You do not have to invoice us. We prepare the invoice on your behalf and send it to you together with the payment, so there is no paperwork on your side. By joining you agree to us invoicing this way.
If you join as a business, give us your company registration or VAT number so the invoice is correct. You are responsible for your own tax on what you receive, including VAT where it applies to you, and for declaring the income where you live. We cannot advise you on your tax position.
You keep it honest:
We do our part:
Because people register themselves through your link, you never hand us anybody else's details. From that moment Vagabond Haven is the controller of their data and looks after it under our privacy policy, in the same way as any other customer enquiry.
We hold your own details in order to run the programme and pay you: your name, contact details, company details where relevant, the referrals attributed to you and the record of your acceptance of these terms. You can ask to see what we hold, to correct it, or to have it deleted once there is nothing outstanding between us.
Your name is visible to us internally against the people you refer. We do not show it to other partners.
Either of us can end this at any time, with no notice period and no reason needed. You can also simply stop using your link.
Referrals already registered before it ends are still honoured, and are paid in the normal way if they buy within the twelve months in section 4. Your link stops working when the partnership ends.
The exception is misuse. Where a referral was obtained through unsolicited marketing, misrepresentation or false information, no fee is due for it and we may end the partnership immediately.
We may update these terms. The version and date at the top always tell you which one is current, and we will email active partners when something material changes.
A change never affects a referral already registered. Those are settled under the terms in force on the day the referral was made.
Swedish law applies, and any dispute we cannot settle between us goes to the Swedish courts, with Uppsala District Court as the court of first instance.
Before it ever gets that far, write to us. Almost everything that goes wrong in a referral programme is a question of who registered somebody first, and that is a matter of record rather than of opinion.
